slowly i continue with my little project to make 6mm paper napoleonic armies. some of the ideas for the Russian command units.
still working on them, will work to give them more details though at this small scale much smaller details can get lost in the printing process

I will also have to get the right flag combinations for the specific regiments.

I think they would be more robust if stuck onto something like children's wooden counting blocks see:

I have some of these blocks in the loft and have often thought of printing off images like yours to cover them with images of troops from the front, back, top and sides to create units.
Obviously this will increase the cost and weight a bit but will be far more durable.

i think i would leave that wood option to others if they want – the cheaper wood option is balsa wood – and i was just at a craft shop on the weekend and saw bags of balsa wood in various shapes that are cheap . I might get some wood at some stage to try it out
