In case you are in need of a few inexpensive Spacefighters, or orbital/sub-orbital strike bombers to populate your Spaceport, the new Buzz Lightyear toys are now available for sale at Walmart and Target.

There are four different models, and they come with a pilot figure too.

$12 USD each.

Also, there's a purple alien spaceship too, for your gaming pleasure. I'm not as sold on it as some of the aspects of the design are a bit weird (the circular surface detailing on the wings/sides), but it is supposed to be an alien design, so there is that to consider.

I suspect it might look better with a repaint to a more reasonable/neutral/subdued color. Sorry, can't recall the price on it for sure, but think it is a bit more than the fighters – $24 USD seems to ring a bell for me, so double that of the human fighters.

There's also a Drop-pod two-pack (purple pods – Barney the dinosaur would be pleased) – one battle scarred and one not, and with two, large, yellow robots/mechs include in them also, so they work out to be $6 USD each per pod, with a free passengers for them. They can be left closed, or opened up – a three-petal design for the models.

Also, there's at least one fighter that's also been produced in 6mm – 10mm/12mm scale too, in case you are a multi-scale gamer.

The toy aisle is a great place for 15mm SciFi!

Those drop pods are awesome.

My best find so far is the Firefly Yahtzee game. The ship is a dice cup that makes a perfect 15mm space ship:

Mark, that's a great find. If I ever get the Splintered Light minis, I might grab one.

Yea, that Firefly is cool, and might work for 15mm, but realistically, it's about 10mm scale instead, so should be much larger for 15mm.

Still, I suppose you can just ignore that, or use it as a visual backdrop.

The 15mm Firefly Shuttle is superb too – frequently sold as a Christmas ornament.

I see a trip to Walmart in my future. Thanks.

CVS even has these, though they're $15 USD there instead of $12 USD at Walmart and Target.

Buzz's fighter was already on special for 25AUD at Big W yesterday. The alien fighter wasn't much more.

with how the film has bombed, the toys might be on sale soon….

chironex01 Jul 2022 2:17 a.m. PST

Some are already.

15AUD at Big W for the Hyperspeeds, I just got one and its pilot figure is basically 31-32mm, only (perhaps ironically?) better proportioned so it may look out of place amongst your 32mm figs. Not sure if I really want to try to make it into 15mm now, but it is rather small for a 28mm fighter, let alone a trans-atmospheric one. Although that is in-character for non-anime space operas.

chironex14 Jul 2022 4:04 a.m. PST

And now the special has ended. 22AUD. ea.

found some of the fighters at Aldi (£10) and the purple zorg fighter at B&M (£16.99). not found the larger zorg ship yet.

T\he zorg fighter after a bit of mooding, would make a good gunship or lander.

This buzz lightyear toy is a great price, but is 6" long and the figure is 1.5" tall, so perhaps better for 28mm figures.

Didn't see anything that would fit 15mm – did I miss something?

McWong7302 Jan 2023 2:41 p.m. PST

No that's what everyone was talking about. The figure and the vehicle are out of scale.

For the UK gamers, the smaller Armadillo model is in at 'the entertainer' store, at £20.00 GBP at present but if like the other will drop in price.
