A recent game skirmish game, very loosely based on the Sabbath Day Point engagement of July 1757 really seemed to captured the flavour of the many small engagements of the French and Indian Wars.
The full scenario is available as a free download from my website (Grant's Farm) at linkWe used La Petite Guerre rules, also freely downloadable at link |

When I hit the link for Grant's Farm on the site, it brought up the Ft Saint Jean scenario for Loose Files and American Scramble instead… |

Great table layout and scenario design. How do the rules LPG work with 12+ figures on the table ? Can 2 players keep it moving or would it bog down? |
smacdowall | 16 Jun 2022 7:08 a.m. PST |
Two players can easily keep LPG moving with 12+ figures. We had 3 players + umpire for this game. The umpire also played the Ottawa according to the victory conditions and random landing points. Once you get the hang of things it can move pretty fast, especially if you use the simplified QRS (free download) from my site at link This strips out anything unnecessary for a quick game and simplifies the command mechanisms. Thanks this sounds promising. The scenario has figures armed with tomahawks which I guess is rolled into the hand to hand rules? I may tweak the charge rule to include an option to throw before going in. |

If I had a tomahawk and musket I think I would shoot with my musket first then close with the tomahawk for the kill. In the rules I give 'advantage' to a man with a better hand to hand weapon in close combat. |
