A true turning point in history….and special remembrance for the heroism of Torpedo 8, Torpedo 6 and all the others who gave their lives to turn the tide.

Midway was a battle the USN HAD to win, against a superior naval force in most respects. Luck, good intelligence and valour achieved a stunning victory for the United Nations.

All involved… on both sides…deserve our respect and remembrance, especially those desperate torpedo and dive bombers who all, in their way won the day.

May they all RIP …

I'm inclined to disagree that 'all involved' deserve our respect. After all, the Japanese executed captured Americans. Not to mention the fact they were fighting a war of conquest.

My salute to the Americans at Midway and the Allies across the Pacific.

Let us pause and stand amazed at the arrogance and foolhardiness of the Japanese, launching a surprise attack -- a sucker punch that wounded but did not destroy -- a nation whose main problems, for the preceding ten years of depression, had been millions of men with no work to do and thousands of factories with no goods to make.

and +1 (a silly custom) to Dn Jackson.

I think people are just referring to the Allied forces involved.
