Zelensky knows the losses at Bakhmut inflicted on the Russians are very high. If the Russians don't take Bakhmut with these high losses in a meatgrinder Putin's days are probably numbered. That is why the US/NATO, etc. have to keep supporting the Ukraine. If a peace is brokered with the Russians holding the small parts of Ukraine that they do. E.g. the Donbas and Crimea. Those Russian occupied areas will only be used to stage a future invasion once the Russians refit, resupply, etc. |

Hungary‘s Orban didn‘t applaud to Zelensky, @runews, Feb 9, 2023. … "Hungary has refused to supply Kyiv with weapons, despite appeals from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Western leaders for military supplies." Hungarian industry has however been allowed to sell arms to 3rd parties that may or may not pass them on to Ukraine, because Hungary needs the money.

Yep Tango we have discussed this many times before … From the Pentagon – 70+% of the military age males in the US population is can't pass the Physical Training tests, nor the Physical, ASVAB, the psych eval, plus have criminal records. And it does not look like it is going to get any better any time soon. The US Military needs to prep for war, get their fighting skill honed to a sharp point. As it looks like the US may have to fight outnumbered if things get very bad. And woke, DEI, CRT/1619, transgender, etc. topics should not be taught to the Military. Waste of time and probably $. USD It is divisive and divides not unites. It does not bring those that will have to fight together in cohesive combat units. @Tango1, that spending number is obsolete, the US alone has now spent between $170 USD Billion and $200 USD Billion on Ukraine in single year, not a mere $46.6 USD Billion. That means the Ukraine War is now the most expensive war in the last 100 years except for WW2 ($340 billion). And WW2 was over a 4-year period, so far we've spend 60% as much in single year on Ukraine -- so, in WW2 terms we've spent $$$ = to the WW2 War period of January 1942 through August 1944. |
