The sounds of war have become louder in Belgorod, a mid-sized Russian city about 25 miles (40km) from the Ukrainian border. And the blasts are more frequent."On Sunday, we were woken up again by explosions. You never know if it's them or us firing," said Vladimir, a shopkeeper in the city… The Guardian: link |

Good. Bring the war to Russia. Even though it wont happen a long well placed bombardment of a few residential areas of Belgorod would be good. Maybe hit a few churches, kindergartens and hospitals if possible. |

Take some Russian land, bargain it for the Donbas and Crimea. |
Pendekar | 21 May 2022 7:04 a.m. PST |
If it is a military target, then by all means I hope they take whatever actions are necessary inside of Russia. I find the suggestion to target churches, kindergartens and hospitals in poor taste. Roads, Rail lines, military depots containing fuel, munitions, etc… Those are more than deserving of some return fire from Ukraine (or anyone else who wants to help out). |

I agree with Pendekar. I have been avoiding some of the Ukrainian War threads and seeing an opinion regarding creating Russian civilian casualties will keep me away again. As Tevya said, if you believe in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth you just end of with everyone unable to see or eat. (Something like that). |

Yes it is poor taste. the evil vindictive side in me wants it to happen. The more rational, law abiding and correct side does not. And the correct, rational and law abiding side will always win because I am not a criminal, but in my thoughts I feel getting a taste of your own medicine would be educational. |

Perhaps Ukraine should turn some of their military west and forcibly remove the Russian seperatists from the Transnistria enclave as payback. |

Pendakar, rustymusket. +++1 I can't understand anger – especially righteous anger. I even accept having hateful thoughts. We all have them, but we do we need to post those thoughts on social media. Rustymusket, I thought I'd dip my toes back into the discussion but I agree with you. |

Interesting, hopefully military targets, one suspects that in today's war the Ukrainians are far too savvy to indiscriminately start bombing soviet civilian areas, as such moves would remove much support from the West. The soviets, who we have seen have no problems in indiscriminate shelling of civilian area, will also be aware of this, Tally Ho! |

The ruzzians would probably be thrilled if they finally didn't have to make up or hallucinate lies about Ukrainian war crimes or genocid of ethnic ruzzians conducted by Ukrainians. By the way, since we learned it from the ruzzians themselves that Ukrainians ARE ruzzians, would it still be genocide? I mean, is killing your brother genocide or a family affair? Don't bother, it doesn't matter. We've all heard of wife-beater divorces. Anyway, mother ruzzia gives a about it's population. It erases the future of at least a whole generation with this war. And not just that of its own population. And not to forget, we would have to bear the whole atrocious Whataboutism BS here on TheMiniaturespage: 'Look, they are also doing it, so we are allowed to do it too. And since they are NAZIS, we even had to do it first'. I predict, the ruzzians will provoke something like that, so their propaganda battalions can reduce overtime. And I wouldn't be surprised, when they do it themselves and blame Ukrainians. The only indisputable fact is that without the ruzzian invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine, there would have been no shelling in Belgorod. |

Perhaps Ukraine should turn some of their military west and forcibly remove the Russian seperatists from the Transnistria enclave as payback. Does not sound like a particularly smart idea, considering that Transnistria is officially part of Moldavia, and IIRC even Russia has not recognised it as an independent state so far. |

+1 Greifbringer. It's an absolutely insane idea. As for Russian civilian casualties, how big a propaganda victory want to hand to Putin? |

Why wouldn't anyone believe the Russians would do it themselves, take the videos, plaster the dead on TV and claim the Ukrainians Committed the crime? That seems to fit their pattern. |

If London, Paris, Berlin, or Washington D.C. or Tokyo were attacked by Russia would Moscow be a fair target? I suspect any attack into Russian territory would be decried as an "escalation" by Ukraine by the Russian apologists. IMHO attacks on Russian military targets by Ukraine are fair game anywhere in the world. So of Ukraine sunk a Russian warship in the northern Pacific or blew up an oil refinery five miles over the Ukraine border it's all legitimate. Mike Bunkermeister Creek |

limited ammo so use it where it counts, i.e. on military targets |

Start targeting Russian distilleries. That will get their attention. |
