I like the colorful turbans and will have to try something like that with the tribesmen I am painting.
I haven't figured it out yet, but I think the texture/color on the body of the drum looks really good.

I used all Vallejo colors for the drum. First I painted it all Flat Brown. The chords are Chocolate Brown and the drum heads are Green Ochre. I lightly highlighted the middle of the drum heads with Buff.
