All,
I'm getting ready to get back into SF gaming, this time in 15mm. I'm undecided though which direction to take. Highlander Studios does great Not Star Wars minis. Rebel and Khurasan have very nice and extensive 15mm SF ranges that are more generic.
Which makes more sense, specific Star Wars, or generic?

Generic

Unless you want to play Star Wars games, I would go more generic. That said, no reason that you can't use Star Wars type figs in your universe.

Generic for me – although as noted you can use Star Wars also generically, especially the Rebs

Thanks folks, I think generic it is!

Generic. What rules or setting do you like? More army games or skirmish?

Generic, its less restrictive. The Rebel and Khurasan minis are great.

I have a lot of the old Action Fleet figures and vehicles. I mix Starship Troopers, Star Wars, and Star Trek together.
Starship Troopers are the Army.
Star Trek are the Space Force.
Star Wars are the civilians / mercenaries / private security.

It's my universe and I will play it as I wish.

I have even had Starship Troopers bugs attack 1950s USA, after all that was the giant bug monster era.

Planning skirmish games. I'd love to know if Khurasan and Rebel are compatible size wise.

Yes they are compatible

How about Highlander Studios minis?

Thresher0110 May 2022 6:32 p.m. PST

Why not both?

Thresher01,

I thinks that what generic will ultimately become.

How about Highlander Studios minis?

The Stormtroopers are a lot larger. Very very nice but big. The Jawas are nice. The Rebel Alliance ship troops are the same size as the Stormtroopers. Vader is huge but so is OB1 and Luke, Princess Leia is tiny as are C3PO and R2D2. Han and Chewy are large but not too large nor is Boba Fett

Dragon6,
That's totally crazy, the guy designs the figures himself, but the sizes are all over the place?

Pictures or it didn't happen.

Agreed

Generic. My forces are built with Khurasan and Brigade

nnascati Supporting Member of TMP11 May 2022 3:55 p.m. PST

Well I went ahead and ordered a bunch from Khurasan, and a few Star Wars characters from Highlander.

chironex30 May 2022 3:00 a.m. PST

Generic, because it's your imagination; unless you really want to be playing the same settings for the rest of your gaming life.
I may have some obvious copies of famous media in my collection, but then the settings I collected them for all seem so similar anyway.
So I slapped together a force made of Khurasan, GZG, and Matchbox, looking to add some more from Eureka and Genet.
