"Operator Starsky" is one of Ukraine's greatest assets!

Call him a propagandist and, strictly speaking, that would be true. But the best propaganda is always the truth, and the truth about the "Russian World/Peace" is the scariest thing since Orwell predicted so much of it.

The last bit of this video had me clapping and laughing out loud, and I seriously wish everyone on this thread will go to watch it.

Slava Ukraina!

There is a reason YouTube is full of 'Crazy Russian' vids for years.

Yep, last bit was most unexpected and quite amusing.

Where have I seen something like this before?
Remembered! This guy is a good student of Goebbels. Uses well-practiced techniques of his mentor.

As for the second fact, in Russia there is a long-established meme about "designer girls" who prepare various visual materials for certain events. These are people who do a good job, but do not understand anything about what they are trying to portray. Just photos found on the Internet and suitable compositionally.
If you think that there are no such "girls" in the USA, you are greatly mistaken:

Can you figure out what's wrong here? ;-)

nickinsomerset11 May 2022 3:36 a.m. PST

Can you figure out what's wrong here? ;-) – Yes, your man Spewtin has invaded a sovereign country in an attempt to rebuild the Soviet Union, with cowardly soviet soldiers murdering and raping. Meanwhile you push out the usual soviet propaganda that could have been put together by a 7 year old, without appearing to understand that many of us know people out in Ukraine, not withstanding hundreds of journalists from all over the world, not of whom saw soviets being welcomed with open arms and flowers, not losing any casualties. They have seen plenty of dead soviets and destroyed equipment,

Tally Ho!

Cuprum,

We figured out what is wrong here. It is you and your Russian propaganda.

williamb11 May 2022 7:43 a.m. PST

Cuprum there is a saying that "two wrongs do not make a right". Putting forward that other people are doing the same thing as Russia does not make what Russia is doing right or good.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa11 May 2022 8:38 a.m. PST

I agree that two wrongs don't make a right, but Putin is presenting this as a 'just war' to the Russian people, which unfortunately a proportion at least do seem to believe.

Bottom line … no way you can spin that. Unless you lie, deny, etc.

Just saw this story. Might explain Cuprum2's last pair of posts!

Yep, but it goes to a whole new level of unreality when kids are handed a placard of a fallen hero, have no idea or connection to that person (real or an image off the web), so they don't care and discard it. When the State promotes propaganda across all aspects of society, nothing is real except what you are personally connected to -- your past is nothing, your future uncertain. Putin is causing immense damage to Russian society by re-inflicting the wounds of Communist-style controls and propaganda/

"You can't subvert an enemy, that doesn't want to be subverted."
Yuri Bezmenov

Yuri Bezmenov on subversion – Youtube
A classic.

If I remember correctly, it's called 'Competetive Victimhood' in social psychology.
Victimhood Mindset

Some russians just don't realize they're on the wrong side of town.
In Ukraine and elsewhere.

But there is still hope that they will become reasonable.
In, say, 25 to 50 years.

Hope springs eternal.

And now, for a change, brought to you by some crazy Kraut, some crazy Redneck music:
Alan Jackson – Chattahoochee – on Youtube

Bandolier11 May 2022 1:38 p.m. PST

I think we can all recognise a video created by a Ukrainian press officer showing goofy Russians doing and saying goofy things is selective editing.
You can do the same for any country. It's a bit of fun.
Bringing up nazi references doesn't impress anyone.

Arjuna11 May 2022 5:32 p.m. PST

>Bringing up nazi references doesn't impress anyone.

To be exact, it's the one of the oldest trick in the book and predates the Nazis for quite some time.

Reductio ad Hitlerum

Oh, and let's not talk about 'Whataboutism' and moral 'middle ground fallacy'

Cuprum211 May 2022 7:51 p.m. PST

SBminisguy, yes, this happens here. And it is in educational institutions and quite often. And this disgusting phenomenon is a vile formalism that destroys the brightest impulses.
But you don't need to tell me that all these marches are a staging. I myself have been participating in them for many years, as well as my whole family. A significant part of my relatives, friends and acquaintances do this absolutely voluntarily. I don't have any bosses, I'm an entrepreneur and I work for myself. I don't give a damn about Putin and the current Russian government – I think that these are poorly competent people who often do their job poorly.
But I am proud of my ancestors who defeated Nazism and saved their country in the most terrible war in the history of mankind. What's wrong here?

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa, is this war fair? Partly. I believe that the blame for this war lies equally in the West and in Russia. The cause of this war was a chain of egregious political mistakes on both sides. This is a typical imperialist war based on ordinary economic interests. And I will not argue about this – I'm just not interested in arguing with people fooled by propaganda. Though Western, even Russian.
But at the same time, I prefer real facts, and not fictions of propagandists of either side.
And I don't care about Naryshkin's statements – the Russian authorities did a lot to discredit themselves in the eyes of the people long before the war. But… There is a war going on, and only a lost war can be worse than a war. We in Russia, I hope, will change the government after its completion.

Well, for the general development of those who understand French:

The blame is ALL on Russia. NO ONE forced them to invade. I used to respect Russia for what they accomplished in WWII, but that respect is all gone.

Russia have shown its barbarity in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Syria and Ukraine. Now I just loath Russia and everything russian.

Russia is todays nazis. It is not Putin killing, raping and torturing in Ukraine. It is ordinary russian men. It is the fault all the way from Putin to the lowest private. Appearantly no one stops or refuse to carry out illegal orders. Orders that break all rules of war.

It is some fundamental fault in Russian culture. Strong prey upon weak with impunity. Complete disregard of human basic ethics and compassion.

Russia is like it ISIS on a grand scale.

Arjuna12 May 2022 1:38 a.m. PST

Scapegoats.

What russia really need now is scapegoats.
You can't have enough scapegoats for your incompetence or when things go bad.
Especially when you're running out of disposable rabble.

I've seen similar videos to the Uesugi posted on Gay Pride day. Little children being used for propaganda. Contemptable.
