No matter what the Russian population says or wants, e.g. not invading Ukraine, ending the war there, etc. As long as they are run/lead by the likes of Putin and his associates. The tail will continue to wag the dog. And in this situation, many on both sides will die … in large numbers. Especially for the Russians…

Ukraine can hit military targets in Russia … now. That could seriously affect Russia's already poor logistic support for troop and equipment. Again IMO, this should have done a year ago. Timidity, risk aversion, fear of escalation, etc. by the US/NATO leadership has most likely just made the war last longer and more lives lost. Plus, more $ spent.

It's gonna be a BAD summer in Ukraine. The muddy fields have dried, tanks can move with more mobility, Russia has air and artillery supremacy…gonna be bad.

We will have to see who learned lessons from the pass engagements. Over the winter months. The Russians still have not impressed me and many others very much. With their "prowess" on the battlefield. And their losses are massive …

Again, the Ukraine needed more weapons sooner and in larger quantities. I can only hope NATO has done all they could without damaging their own stocks too much. But again, IMO the US was too little, too late …

Thanks to the Clinton Admin. The Bush 41-ers were discussing a Marshall Plan for ex-Soviet Russia to help actively transition them to the West, to Democracy and Free Market following the South Korea model. Clinton folks not only didn't care, they actively dismantled everything they could from the Bushies. What a historic opportunity pissed away…

It was said again on an interview with a member of Congress on the news. The slow movement of critical items the Ukraine needed to win.
Without going into too much detail, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the letter behind his name … 'nuff said …

Legion it would be nice. But contradicts a lot of what I've read in the "all so untrustworthy" worldwide media of both sides.

Russian economy was impacted initially, but with the addition of India, China, N Korea, Iran, large areas of Africa, SA and those sneaking by the sanctions, they seem to be doing ok.

They have put themselves on a military footing manufacturing wise and are producing replacement vehicles, etc.

Their leadership seems to be more popular with their own people, by playing the old misunderstood, good intentions, oppressed Russian victim card. (That one almost never fails for them, except in WW1).

They are learning from their military mistakes and dumping some incompetent leadership, (who are suffering the need for long trips to a cold climate, the need for a dank prison cell, or sudden aeration of their skulls).

500,000 casualties are a drop in the bucket to Russia, especially since many are not Russian or those deemed.., expendable.

They are learning to fight the new conventional war.. not a good thing for everyone else.

Weaknesses:
Logistics. They never seem to have learned how to handle it.
Navy: not a big deal for this war.
Constant war footing will eventually create debts like ours and deplete resources. But not quick enough for the Ukraine and it's not like it isn't doing the same to the West.

Not sure why they go on the offensive any more. Just create deep defenses with loads of artillery and drones and force the Ukraine on the offensive. The Ukraine can't sustain those casualties. Play Kursk with the Ukraine. Good thing for the Ukraine they don't do that.
