Isnt this thread the height of delusion now?

What deluded as in a Great Soviet victory in their 3 day special operation? There only appears to be a couple of deluded sad cases quoting the usual soviet inspired circular reporting,

Tally Ho!

Seems this war in the Ukraine may go on for years now. The Ukraine did not get the support the US promised and that did land was not timely.

Putin knows what's he doing. He will continue to throw his forces into a meat grinder. Just to keep the war going until support for Ukraine dwindles. The Ukrainians will have no choice but to get a brokered peace. With Russia holding the Donbas, the land bridge to Crimea and still have the Crimea.

Setting the stage for another Russian invasion in the future, 10 year or so down the road. With or without Putin.

And as the A'stan Debacle, emboldened Putin to invade the Ukraine. Again, as he saw how poorly leaded the US forces were starting at the top.

Xi may see Putin's "victory" as a Green Light to be more aggressive with Taiwan. As again seeing the US leadership does not have the right stuff …

Putin is going to push more bodies into the meatgrinder as long as it takes. As he knows sooner or later the Ukraine just won't that the assets to continue to defend against naked Russian Imperialism. Putin believes there will eventually be a brokered peace. Russia gets to keep the parts of Ukrainian they occupy. I.e. the Donbas, land bridge to Crimea and Crimea. Land that they will use to be jump off points for their next invasion of Ukraine, 5-10 years from now. With or without Vlad.

In the end with the brokered peace. Putin will claim victory, have a small parade with what is left of the Russian military. Talk about the great sacrifice of the Russian troops did for the Russian Motherland, etc., etc.

This will signal Xi, Un, islamic terrorists, etc. that the US and its allies did not send enough support for the Ukraine to push the Russians off their lands. Once again demonstrating USA's weak leadership, poor understanding of realpolitik, the reality of the geopolitical and military situations, etc.

As was again seen in the A'stan debacle. And now with the US allowing our forces to be attacked in Syria and Iran with little effective retaliation. Just sending 2 Carrier Grps, a TLAM packing nuke powered sub, a MEU, deploying USAF in the region, plus other assets. Is not having the expected effect of stopping Iran from supporting proxy islamic militias, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc.

Again, predators sense weakness and take full advantage of it.

That's no surprise …

Ned Ludd07 Dec 2023 2:49 p.m. PST

All these news links on stories about the Russian forces that I see on page after page here remind me of quotes from the Germans in the second world war about the soviets. "Just kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will collapse", "The Russians have run out of armies", "The Russians wont fight", "They are subhuman". They say that history rhymes I think it does. I think a good quote for the ukrain leader is "Give me back my Legions".

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP07 Dec 2023 5:10 p.m. PST

Well… in this particular case… to avoid reading these types of articles… it is best not to invade a neighboring country and kill, kidnap, rape and destroy its defenseless civilians…

What has not changed over time… is that even with documentation, films, etc. about the atrocities carried out by the invaders… there are people like before who defend them…

There are too many videos of Russian soldiers shooting defenseless civilians and documented civilian mass graves where the Russians briefly occupied villages.

"The Russians wont fight",
The Russians showed incompetence, poorly trained and lead troops, etc. from Day 1. They were not the forces we thought they were. They operate like some Mid East or African forces.

I think a good quote for the ukrain leader is "Give me back my Legions".
I'd think this is much more appropriate for Putin and his marginal GENs/ADMs … About 50% of the Russian Forces have been eliminated.

There are too many videos of Russian soldiers shooting defenseless civilians and documented civilian mass graves where the Russians briefly occupied villages.
Hopefully many of these war criminals are dead by now. Sadly, Putin and all the surviving war criminals will never get the justice they deserve.

"… incompetence, poorly trained and lead troops, etc…."

I was in a War with an Army with those characteristics … I was even part of the occupation forces of an actively enemy population…

and I did not see… at any time… the sadism and cruelty that Russian soldiers show in this war (and in many others)… therefore my criticism… as a former veteran is of the deepest contempt for those who, by tradition, mandate or pride, hide behind a uniform and a weapon to spread the most terrible suffering to those defenseless who fall into their hands.

Even victory does not give those rights…

What does Julian Assange have to do with the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine??

Ned Ludd08 Dec 2023 1:47 p.m. PST

"What does Julian Assange have to do with the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine"??

War Crimes!

Lots of allegations about Russian war crimes. Yet when US war crimes a exposed the person exposing them is thrown in jail……For Ever.

Just another display of US hypocrisy and double standards that makes my cat vomit.

Even victory does not give those rights…
Agreed … The Russians have no excuse or rights, nor does Hamas, or anyone else to commit the war crimes, etc. And the Russians are poor at soldering as we see. Hamas are not soldiers, they are islamic terrorists …

Julian Assange published US war crimes. Look what happened to him.
He published classified information … that was illegal. He broke the law. I don't know of any war crimes … enlighten me ? Nothing like we see with the Russians and Hamas … Or anything even close.

What does Julian Assange have to do with the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine??
That is a tactic some use to change the subject when they have no other response. And it is easy to blame the USA, anyway. The US had slaves you know …

That was good. They aught to have put a section in about how he is lead to the rostrum to make a speech rambles about his grandpappy, randomly starts shouting. Then sh---- himself, falls over and cant find his way off the stage.
Oh wait…. thats the wrong world leader, Im confused and my cat is looking bilious.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP09 Dec 2023 7:12 a.m. PST

Ned – Assange did not execute civilians or murder POWs, destroy schools and hospitals, etc. His release of classified info was political, not part of a war.

Your degradation of Biden only makes me want to defend the guy, which I do here all the time, even though I am not a fan. But you go too far. I am old school. I disagree without dragging him into the @#$&.

I am sorry your cat may have come down with something. Don't let him watch cable news for a while and see if he improves.

Ned Ludd09 Dec 2023 7:43 a.m. PST

I didnt mention biden! what made you think I had him in mind?

Assange exposed war crimes. US war crimes. He went to jail and cannot get out.

soledad09 Dec 2023 8:05 a.m. PST

Mr Ned Ludd. This thread is about the Russo-Ukrainian war. if you want to start a new thread about Julian Assange feel free to do so.

But what you are doing is trying to deflect the discussion from Russian warcrimes to American treatment of Assange.

Lets keep this thread about the Russo-Ukrainian war.

I sincerely hope Russia will lose this war. I also hope that all those who support Russia will suffer consequences from it.

Ned Ludd09 Dec 2023 8:48 a.m. PST

The double standards need to be out in the open for all to see.

"I also hope that all those who support Russia will suffer consequences from it".

What kind of consequences would you like to see? Would they be just for supporters of russia? Or anyone that questions the narrative? Or is that supporting russia? Its all very confusing.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP09 Dec 2023 9:09 a.m. PST
