6mm scale of course but lots of them, infantry bases are 72 figures and cavalry are 24 figures and there are a lot of bases crammed onto my trusty folding card table just 2'6" x 2'6" which is dotted out in 75mm squares. Getting on for 2000 figures (all by Irregular Miniatures) on the table. Few photos here but more on the blog with a description of the game.

Cheers,
Lee.

Very nice; and very small!

Well done! As you say, perhaps a little crowded, but a good game, a nice looking board and a clear refutation of all who say "miniature wargames take up too much space."

I know more people heading the direction of folding card tables than staying with large set ups. Not scientific, but seems to be where we are headed. You could go all the way up to 20mm with fewer minitures per base and this would still work fine.

Thank you all for your comments. I have seen a gradual shift towards smaller space/scale gaming recently and certainly Bob Cordereys series of Portable Wargames rule books have proved extremely popular with a very lively FB group. I plan to take this further with a huge (!) 4' x 3' board covered in a Geek Villain textured mat and then dotted out in a 75mm grid. Certainly a wider board would allow for more realistic deployment and open the game up. For me now 4 x 3 is the sweet spot.
