" never cared much for Star Trek Next Generation, feeling the show reflected humans in an advanced moral, technological, and educated state that held no substantive view for me. In particular, actor Wil Wheaton's character, Wesley Crusher, filled me with hate, watching him grow up on a starship of people who admired the boy-genius. Perhaps Wesley provided an escape for some people who had harsh upbringings, but to me, the Wesley facade held no salvation but glared when compared to my miserable life of privilege with corporately-successful parents. Wil Wheaton understands this, having struggled with parental abuse and gaslighting that makes you believe everything is your fault and the abuse a figment of imagination…" Main page

Mr. Triola is quite the prince: "Thank you for reading; you mean a great deal to me since readers are the most important people in a writer's life. I cannot promise to appease all readers and honestly don't care to try, attempting instead to provide an entertaining, critical perspective: a goal that often offends the vast armies of illiterates, zealots, ignorant persons, racist swine, and especially conservatives since they enlist all the aforementioned soldiers of stupid. You may want to familiarize yourself with my reader warning label for as much as you may not wish to read my writing, I may not want your readership." Adversity in life results in strength or weakness. Self pity only enables the latter. |

Wil Wheaton is a hardcore wargamer! That makes him ok in my book. |

The writer seem to be quite a self hating narcissistic a-hole. I blame the web. I remember an old quote from the TV show The Flash; "You may have had an unhappy childhood, but that's no excuse for your behavior today". To put is as a old biker friend once said "Grow the F up!". |

I despised TNG, because it felt like a super-touchy-feely, starship-as-cruise-liner version of Star Trek. I preferred the more military feel of the original series and movies. That being said, I like Wil Wheaton a lot more as the person he has become than as the character he played (who should have died in an uncontrolled plasma release early in the first episode he starred in). |
