For those of us who game WWII, how do you like your armour done up? While a clean off the factor floor look is nice;

Looking at photos and talking to vets (like my father-in-law's best bud who rode an M-7 from D-Day to VE Day) WWII AFVs seemed to have a lot of kit

So what is your preference?

a) Clean like off the Factory Floor
b) Gently used
c) Full on gypsy caravan
d) A mix of the above
e) Not a tanker
f) No opinion

Probably B? An extra stowage box or two is realistic enough: I've been to the field with heavy mech. But my WWII stuff is micro or nanoscale these days, and I like to be able to recognize my tanks. Irregular Miniatures is about right--sturdy, some individuality but not buried under a ton of clutter.

Mind you, I've taken whatever I could buy.

I've got two tanks and several tankettes. I'd like to think that the tankettes and the Sherman look a bit "gently used." My Mark VIB looks clean, like off the factory floor, in part because it just looks so cool, and in part because I'd really like to have one like it to drive around Colorado Springs. And if you have to ask "Why?" you obviously haven't seen the way people in Colorado Springs drive.

I like my minis factory fresh. Makes them easier to identify from across the tabletop.

I base them on photos (WW2) or my experience and photos (Cold War)

My massive HO scale armor is done all three ways. Factory fresh, gently used, and used up. That is to distinguish units, usually battalions from each other.

A mix of b and c.

I use slightly different tones if I want to distinguish units the way Bunkermeister describes above.
