Poland's government has been told that the country's gas supply from Russia will stop from Wednesday following Warsaw's refusal to pay its supplier, Gazprom, in roubles…

I liked how Germany said that they were going to stop using Russian natural gas and oil/gas by the end of the year. My thinking is that they're hoping that the war is resolved and they can keep up their shipments as they don't have a lot of alternatives outside of crashing their economy.

Germany doesn't really need the gas, they've got around 28,000 windmills.

Also Bulgaria is cut off.

Go Green, go Morgenthau!
Was the plan all along…

I knew the two electric heaters and the small portable power station I've been using in shed and garden would be worthwhile next winter.
Boy, how they were amused by my mild prepper paranoia.
Off to the DIY store.

Heard a report today that Biden is asking Germany to not stop ordering Russian oil and gas until after the mid-term elections. He is afraid gas prices will shoot up more and the Dems will lose the Senate too.

Hello,

in germany only around 40% of the gas is used to cook and for privat heating. The rest is in use for industrial process heating, like metall work, chemicals, bread, cheese, milk and beer. Many of this production cycles, like pork or chicken, are not so easy to switch on or off.
Wind energie is no alternative, it is not avaiable in some parts of germany, at least not anytime.

Um… Germany … the OLd Germany :) … could not work around 'problems' like carpet bombing of … everyhing??? Different Days…but different ways…

'Green' is not a Strategy… just an optional addition.
