Specifically Prussian ones. Most illustrations show these as natural wood. Is that definitely right? I have no reason to think otherwise, except that in most armies including the Prussian, colour staffs were painted; gunners' tools were painted; and IIRC, Prussian fusilier muskets were stained black. Did they avoid the temptation to paint the lance woodwork?

And re fusiliers, is it right that Landwehr infantry regiments followed the 2 x musketeer / 1 x fusilier battalion structure? If so, did the fusilier battalion of a Landwehr regiment have black straps like line fusiliers?

My go-to reference for the Prussian Army during the Befreiungskrieg (1813-1814) is David Nash's The Prussian Army: 1808-1815. Although dated (1972), I believe most of the information is accurate.

For uhlan lances, Nash doesn't say that they were colored in any way except for the officer lances of the 3rd Regiment whose lances were white lacquered.

The landwehr regiments did not have fusilier battalions. All battalions of the regiments were the same. Uniforming of the landwehr was "haphazard" and even within regiments one could find different uniform combinations and colorings.

No Landwehr fusileers, the Reserve infantry are termed as such but doubt their abilities, at least I don't use them as such. But yet Landwehr were known to skirmish
