Reminds me of a line from Porthos in The Four Musketeers:
"Who the Devil would fight out of doors in this weather?"

I kind of like sudden surprises.

Nice looking game and scenery. Would have been nicer for the images to be clickable to get a better view of the eye candy on offer.

A good comment, I just need to work out how to make them clickable

Nice gaming table you have there, good to see so many figures on the table.

Thanks John. Most of them from my collection. My Swiss and Burgundian habve not seen battle since 2015. I suspect that they won't see battle again for the foresable future

I am surprised at the Swiss players reaction, with all those pike blocks I would have thought they still had the advantage, the Burgundians would have found it difficult to hold off those pikemen (Don't they always strike first and fight with two ranks?). The psychology of gamers needs to be studied!

They also had 6,200 points versus about 5k of Burgundians and had 2 turns before the gendarme were able to charge in.
I did advise the Swiss player that he could form square but rather than just play the game he just wanted to sulk in the cry and weep .

I received a long email explaining why the scenario was imbalanced and how disavadgeed the Swiss were etc and that it was a poor simulation of the Battle of Nancy(?!) I am not sure where he got that idea from as I never represented that the game was Nancy . Oh well, I learned a vluable lesson some wargamers only want to play 2000 point battles on 6x4 tables.
