Hey, wasn't able to make it this year and have seen no reports or photos for Little Wars. How is everything going? Was there a good turn out? |

Just checked out the photos and video. Great looking games. Nicer looking venue. Hope it was a huge success. If it wasn't for softball I'd love to attend. |

It was better than we expected. 162 of the 174 games were played. We lost two vendors but replaced one. Attendance is looking to be 530. Dice and T Shirts totally sold out. Keep us in mind for next year. |

As a vendor, the show was very good. Kevin and staff were beyond helpful, a very nice location and pretty nice weather. OK, we all could have done without the rain today. Looking forward to a return trip next year. |

It was a fine show. The venue seemed really supportive from an attendee perspective and was as nice as the previous venue but a little cheaper. Decent food choices at the show, and beverages to be had at a good price. Game room seemed slightly smaller, but not much, and vendor room was good with lots of choices. The few I spoke to seemed happy with the spending by attendees. A few no shows to the games I ran but those slots were filled by eager walk ups and everyone seemed all smiles. Many really nice looking tables with some folks really going all out. Nice variety of games from many different eras and rules sets. Same venue next year and I look forward to it. Great job HMGS Midwest. |

There were some no shows in the games I played and not full either. Maybe that means more games than players? Who knows. I was shocked at the lack of games after 8pm Saturday. Maybe all the geriatric Geronimos have to make their bed time? Dealer Area was nice if not a little sparse. A decent mix of the new hotness and junk from 2005. The Sheraton was average at best: no refrigerator or microwave. No housekeeping either but this is post pandemic standard for hotels cheaping out so certainly not unique. South of Chicago is a PITA, hopefully we can return to Schaumburg. |

I have a convention report on my blog link Unfortunately Blogger makes it impossible to post pictures onto TMP, but click the link to this picture on my blog. Trust me, it's an amazing game.
link I liked the new venue. It is easy to get there by car as it's right off of I-88. It was very easy to unload my game terrain and figures – just drive up to the side entrance door and unload onto the trolley carts that were provided for moving stuff. Then it was but a few steps into the game hall. The game hall was quite full, which was good to see. Room temperature was a little toasty on Friday, but was just fine on Saturday. The hotel had two food vendor tables inside the game room. The French fries were awesome 😎. I only had time to make one pass through the dealer area, did a quick look see, but didn't see anything that I needed to buy. That's only reflective of what I'm interested in, not on the quality of the dealers' goods. My overall impression was that the quality of table top terrain and staging was very high and that the variety of games were sure to find something that would grab your interest. I had a good experience at Little Wars and I'd definitely come back next year and run some more games. |

The French fries were awesome Yes, the hotel fries were very good. The entree items from the restaurant's limited menu were also good and the same as the gaming hall but hopefully a bit more fresh off the grill. The problem was nothing else was really less than a mile away. Good choices to had for a drive to be sure. |

Games were very well done with lots of periods to choose from and some Top tier boards. many of the games hosted were a joy to see and looked full most of the time. Location was easy to access and parking was available. Great CON overall. |

First Little Wars I missed, because I didn't want to attend alone as my partners in crime where unable to attend with one Grandson having his senior prom on Saturday, and the other one being in his Middle school's play on Friday & Saturday. They both have been attendees since they were 6 years old. |

Der Alte Fritz Thanks for the great review of our gangster game. My partner in all of this is Gordon Andrews. Our group in the Toledo/Perrysburg area is '5 Guys and a lawyer' The ship is actually 6 feet long, and is based on SS Seramis (shortened for my sanity's sake) which was mentioned in a Louis L'Amour novel. It will be the focus of other Pulp scenarios, and all doors are hinged and open/close, and all the whinches and booms work and articulate. Thanks again for the great review! |

Michealk1776- that table was an inspiration. I was next door running the 15mm Battle Tech game and I spent a little time looking over the table. You made really smart decisions on how you put it together and it just looked fabulous. Congratulations. I was jealous. |

Did anyone play in Wolfhag's tank game, I think on Friday morning? I really wanted to attend to try his rules but just couldn't swing it. |

530 total attendance? Did read that right? |
| kcabai | 26 Apr 2022 10:10 a.m. PST |
Augustus-Correct, we actually had 531 registered attendees. This was up from 2021's LW (Covid) number of 400. But not quite our 600-700 pre-Covid numbers. |

Schogun-Steve's games were well attended throughout the con. In some cases he was over booked and had to bribe players to other events. |

Endless Grubs- I know I did and I was only part of many others who did. Join us next year and get some for yourself. |

Schogun, I did four games of four hours each in 2 days and a "Boot Camp" on Thursday night. Most games had 8-10 players. One game had 16 signed up for some reason. The staff did a great job. There was no hotel housekeeping so it made me feel right a home except no one yelled at me for leaving my dirty clothes on the floor. That was almost worth the price of admission. They did save $$ by not running the AC on Sunday morning. I had the best chicken sandwich of my life at the restaurant. Excellent! I think they collected about $1,700 USD for the Wounded Warriors raffle. I'm putting together an AAR with photos. Email me at treadheadgames AT g----.--- and I'll send you a free copy of the print and play version. It should be ready next month. Here is a video after the game showing the table and what we used: YouTube link Wolfhag |
