I also like the massed look on a base. I am myself transitioning from 4 to a base to 8 on a 1.5"x2.25" litko base but in 28mm not 15mm. IMO, it just looks better massed.

since the war was won west of Appalachica, it is interesting that most of the interest in ACW is on Virginia. Most of what I play is west of the Mississippi.
