Just in case anyone is interested in Kirill Eskov's 'The Last Ringbearer'. I read an English translation about ten years ago. It's an interesting idea I liked. But it's not a particularly good read, especially for Tolkien fans. There is no official translation, as to my knowledge neither publishers nor Tolkien's estate were very keen on the idea. The Last Ringbearer, Second Edition on Archive.org There is a short synopsis in one of its reviews on goodreads.com: The Last Ringbearer on goodreads.com |

Thanks for the link. I still wait though for orcs with AKs to arrive on the 28mm scene :) |

Shoot, I was hoping they were really miniatures. |

Could be a great conversion project though. Any good 28mm orc heads out there? |

Personnally I would go the other way round. Modern equipment, weapons etc on Lord of the Ring Orcs from GW or those Angus McBride style Orcs, whose manufacturer I have forgotten. And of course there is that white Wizard with an AK-47 supporting the good people of Middle Europe. |
