Anyone know of a maker of buildings suitable for use with samurai figures? Hoping to find 15mm or 20mm or 25mm scale: 28mm would be too big (25mm is pushing the envelope). The material used to make the buildings doesn't matter to me.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
I asked Joerg of Things From the Basement to reach out to you. Also, when will I see you and the Mrs at the deli again?

bobspruster18 Apr 2022 5:49 p.m. PST

Hey Mike!
I went by Diversions Puzzles and Games recently, but it was a Sunday and you were closed. Banker's hours?!
Wife and I are both retired now and really don't get out much with the pandemic and all, but we do miss dropping in on you!
Thanks for the referral and hope to see you soon!
Bob

Yeah Bob. Bankers hours…. Severe shortage of staff has us few remaining working huge hours, as well as the necessity of being closed on sundays and mondays

Hovels has both 15mm and 25mm Samuria buildings. You have the option of purchasing them already painted <http://www.hovelsltd.co.uk/oriental25.htm>.

Hi Bob,
Joerg of Things from the Basement here.
I have a big collection of 28mm laser-cut Feudal Japan kits available. Unfortunately, I do not intend to expand that into smaller scales.
In case you want to take a look: link

I've just started research and modelling work on the Sengoku period.

Love the Oshiro buildings, he does very accurate & well researched work & in particular the fort walls & watch tower, but when I went to look today his webshop was down.

Pendraken also do a nice range of 10mm scale buildings & I think a few of them might be suitable for 15mm.

I also found these great castle model kits which can be ordered from japan. I ordered one of the 1/150 scale castles and it only took 8 days till it arrived in the UK! They also make many other models like bridges, shops, temples, ships and shrines.

The Oshiro site is back, here is a link to their 15mm Yamashiro range.

"The yamashiro was Japan's main castle type in the Sengoku jidai (warring states period), consisting of wooden walls and earthen ramparts. These castles were dotted all over the countryside and were of varying sizes and complexity.

With this new 15mm range you will be able to have your own yamashiro and the buildings therein."

Sorry to find this thread so late! I designed lots of Japanese temples, shrines and houses (for 28mm scale) for 3d printing, and I've seen plenty of customer prints of them at smaller scales:
3dalienworlds.com

Might work for you?

For solid resin 15mm structures one can use Peter Pig and Alternative Armies. I received three A.A. buildings yesterday. Nice 1-piece castings. Hovels also has a range of structures in 15mm.

I cannot recommend the 3dalienworlds products highly enough. I own most of them, including a large version of the castle, that is pictured in this forum someplace. Anyway, if you don't have a 3d printer you can find their stuff on etsy, pre-printed, in pretty much any scale you need.
