"Everything we know about the SR-72: Imagine a future crisis somewhere in Europe or Asia and the United States getting an intelligence-gathering aircraft overhead of the site in an hour and a half. It could become a reality in very short order as the US' premier aeronautics engineers are making it happen. The Lockheed Martin SR-72 — also known as the "Son of Blackbird", is the United States' hypersonic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) concept that is expected to have the capability to perform high-speed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), as well as strike operations…"

Why do the markings include a Punisher skull? |

How many billions is each one going to cost us? |

The Punisher skull isn't as silly as the reversed lettering. Is that so people can read it in their rear-view mirrors? Or is someone trying to avoid a copyrighted image search? Neat plane, though. I would expect something like this to happen. "As well as strike operations" means it's a bomber, they just want it to sound less aggressive. |

At one point I saw B-2s with the yellow Batman insignia. Painted on the fuselage. The Punisher Skull is in a similar vein. As opposed to what some woke, etc. types say about "toxic masculinity". You want Alphas flying combat aircraft, TC'ing AFVs, running Infantry units, etc. |

I rather like the Punisher logo. Seems like a great nickname for a bomber like that. Love the artwork, though if it does have a rudder, I imagine it will have two of them. More likely though, I suspect it will probably be a rudderless design. The artist got a bit carried away with the USAF insignia, and seems to not know that only one wing gets the star and bar when viewed from top or bottom. Gotta love a Mach 6 recon bird, bomber, fighter/interceptor, since our enemies are really, REALLY going to hate it. |

"You want Alphas flying combat aircraft". Kind of hard to do in an UNMANNED aircraft per the article. Lol |
Tgerritsen | 18 Apr 2022 8:06 p.m. PST |
Unmanned aircraft are still flown by a person, and the Air Force requires that person be a trained and certified pilot, even if they are half a world a way, so you might want to check your derision and all caps. |

It will be interesting to see if it remains unmanned, or if there is a manned option too. |

Kind of hard to do in an UNMANNED aircraft per the article. But yet … Tgerritsen – Unmanned aircraft are still flown by a person, and the Air Force requires that person be a trained and certified pilot, even if they are half a world a way, so you might want to check your derision and all caps. LOL ! 😆🤩😎 Yep check your derision at the door ! 😏😉 My statement remains true regardless – You want Alphas flying combat aircraft, TC'ing AFVs, running Infantry units, etc. Again, based on my experience and training it the Army. In my long-passed youth of course … |

I'm sure a latte drinking, video game playing, soy boy Beta nerd could fly an unmanned aircraft as well if not better than an "Alpha". Lol, mighty high horse you be riding there Hoss. :D |

I would imagine by that point AI flies tactical air and humans just direct its tasking and authorize targeting. |

I'm sure a latte drinking, video game playing, soy boy Beta nerd could fly an unmanned aircraft as well if not better than an "Alpha" Ah … maybe ? I don't play video games, don't drink lattes, etc., so … Again based on my past, as I said, Alphas are generally pretty good at flying combat aircraft, TC'ing AFVs and leading Infantry units. I've done the latter two. Never flown any aircraft, drone or otherwise, though. Was cargo in a bunch of them however. 🚁✈🪂 Lol, mighty high horse you be riding there Hoss. :D Never rode no horse neither too … 🐴 I was a Grunt not in the CAV. But I worked with CAV a number of times. They were in AFVs or helicopters – but no horses … 🐎 Were pretty good "horse" soldiers" too … per se … So I'm still going with Alphas make good soldiers and pilots. Over a "soy boy" nerd 🤓.., just say'n … If that puts me on a "high Horse" … so be it ! 🦄🦓 However, some would say I'm a nerd as I paint & play with toys …🤓 |

Sure, you'll 'see' the SR-72. While your eyes are on that, what you won't see are the even better next-generation (or two) SR's also flying over your country… ;-) |
Legion 4 | 23 Apr 2022 10:14 a.m. PST |
By the time we see something like this in the media. It will have been around for a few or more years generally. Plus, there is some stuff we'll never see … anytime soon … |
