Hi Everyone,

Recently I played out the next battle in my Middle Earth campaign. In the last battle Gondor had defeated the Haradrim in the south. This new battle involved the Nazgul attempting to take Dol Guldur in Mirkwood. Celeborn of Lorien had other ideas and defended the citadel. Here are some pictures from the battle. It was played using HOTT rules and the figures are all old 25mm. All the terrain is scratch built. This was a fun little battle and perhaps high lighted a need for a more balanced force for Mordor as it had Hordes mixed with Behemoths. Here is a break down of the two armies.

The Forces of Sauron:

Khamûl and Nazgul Anti Hero Commander x1 4 pt
Trolls Behemoth x1 4 pt
Warband orcs x3 6 pt
Wolf riders x1 2pt
Orc Archers Shooters x2 4pt
Horde orcs x4 4pt

24pt

The Forces of Lothlorien:

Celeborn Hero Commander x1 4pt
Elvish blades x2 4pt
Elvish knights x3 6pt
Elvish bows shooters x3 6pt
Elvish spears x2 4pt

24pt

Hope you like this and more can be seen on the blog. As always comments and crits welcome.

Lovely.
Do you play HotT solo?

Thankyou blacksmith. Glad you like it. Yes, I play solo. I find that it works well for me. I try to do the best thing I can for both sides, but I make mistakes. I think the PIPs help as it restricts what a side can do, or helps a side so you don't really know what each side can do each turn until you roll their PIPs. Thanks for asking.
