Thought I would leave a link here in the 'Blogs of war' board about my modest blog which has been going for 12 years now and has covered a multitude of periods in that time. I currently focus on commission painting which keep me busy but I also do 6mm Crimean war for myself.

I have just added several pages covering numerous scales and periods packed full of images should any of you good people care to come and take a look.

I started it 12 years ago as a therapy for my diagnosed Dysthymia (depression and Anxiety) at a time when I was in a pretty bad place in my life. Painting figures has helped me tremendously over the years as I have gradually recovered and I'm very grateful for it.

Cheers,
Lee.

I've just spent the last hour and a half scanning thru your blog. Really good work!

Appreciate your comments chaps :)

Fred Mills – next 12 years? I'll be 76 by then and lucky to be able to still paint miniatures :)

Lazyworker – thanks for that, makes it all worthwhile.

Lee.

I've only just discovered your blog in the last few weeks Lee and I find it truly inspirational. There's so much to look through. Let's hope there's many more years of you painting.
All the best Dr B

Steady on, Grambo! We're in the same demographic, happy to be mobile and optimistically still collecting and painting!

Great work, Grambo. You are tempting me with your 6mm figures.

Congratulations on 12 years of blogging Lee. (I thought I was doing okay with a paltry 4 years…)

Again thanks for the comments re my blog.

drbeard – appreciate that :) I just wish I had set up labels when I started!

Fred Mills – I agree! I'm surprised that my hands remain so steady after many years of devotion to red wine :)

79th PA – 6mm is a great scale if you want large size units that can be painted quickly (yet still be attractive and stand some close scrutiny) and won't break the bank!

KeepYouPowderDry – I follow your excellent blog, as an ex Sealed KNot member the period remains very special to me. I'm still engaged on a commission to paint every single unit at Edgehill, should be quite a spectacle when all finished. Here is a shot of a few of the cavalry – lovely Peter Pigs of course :)

I also dabbled in 2mm ECW a little way back, just to see what I could with them but lost interest and gave them to a friend to continue! Just a touch TOO tiny for me :)

Cheers all,

Love your 1/72 plastics. Amazing.

grambo20 Apr 2022 12:52 a.m. PST

Thank you Brian, appreciate that :)

The 'modern' plastic 1/72nds are far superior to the old Airfix figures in terms of type of plastic used and sculpts, once undercoated you would not really know they are plastic!
