It's sort of a forest green, looks like. Needs to be a bit lighter on miniatures.

does anyone have any specific suggestions for Vallejo – or perhaps other – colors for the Russian uniform green?

Thanks!

Vallejo Model Color 96/894 is Russian Green.

Vallejo Gunship Green is my choice for Russian Napoleonic uniforms. Not the true dark green but it is a darkish green that shows up nice on tabletop.

My preference is Vallejo 100 Black Green. It is dark enough to do the job. I read somewhere that Russian uniforms of the time were dyed with a black that faded green with use. (Some translations of 'War and Peace' refer to the 'black' uniforms of the Russians.) Anyone tried black with green highlights?

Interesting Artilleryman, I've never heard that.

Some good ideas here, will look into them.

The bulk of my 15mm Russian Napoleonics were painted many years ago with Plaka dark green, Looking at them against various Vallejo colours I now have, the dark green 72.028 ( Game Colour range) would probably be my choice for small scale figures . 70.823 Luftwaffe cam green might be OK as a base colour for 28mm figures? I find the gunship green suggested by Kelly Armstrong a little too blue, but colour choices are very subjective and after 200 years there are no eye witnesses to criticise your personal choice.

I thought Vallejo had a Russian Uniform Green -- 94/924.

@Schogun.

I have a Vallejo Russian Uniform Green -70:924- but it's for WW2 .
All of my Vallejo colours have a 70 (most of them) 71 or 72 prefix. Not come across a 94 prefix,; do they use different codes in different markets (I am in UK)
