There is a considered view that the 1812 infantry kiewer is a myth discussed in previous threads. From recollection there is no documentary record of it which seems to me at least a fairly compelling point. The position may be otherwise for Hussars, which I understand were the first to receive it. But the experts will know. Sadly some of them left years ago. So if there is concern about using the 1809 shako I wouldn't be worried. Haven't checked out the blog though. Very nicely done unit! |
