A lot of YouTubers like to complain about Warhammer+, especially Discourse miniatures; but I just saw my WI Prime renewal: $8.16 USD and WH+ is $5.99 USD.

It doesn't seem so bad now.

Partly because it's Warhammer related, not noted for being inexpensive, and often the subject of general complaint.

I thought a lot of the hate was because the YouTube fan 40k animators were all removed (IP violations) and nominally employed by GW for Warhammer+.
Now they control the content the animation quality is supposedly worse and the output is less frequent.

Complaining about GW is Discourse's whole channel… I enjoy a good GW bashing video every so often, but she is overdoing it.

YouTubers chase algorithms and GW bashing gets hits. Discourse is awful I give her youtube a wide birth despite YouTube constantly trying to recommend her becuase I watched a couple of GW related videos. I generally avoid wargaming YouTube videos as mostly they just annoy me. Having said that there are some decent terrian ones and I've enjoyed a few videos of Diorama builds.

As four Warhammer+ I think the expectations were a bit high among GW fanboys who thought they were getting Disney plus and then got upset when they got a GW YouTube channel instead.

ALso, a lot of the uproar was apparently because it launched with very little content to speak of. I don't know if that has been handled.

I believe it all boils down to GW forcing YouTube videos fans could watch for free to be removed and only some of them surviving but behind a pay wall. And, the quality of too much of the product isn't any better than most of what was previously available for free.

That and the Bruva Alfabusa channel voluntarily stopping new 40K parody videos. His stuff grew and me and I enjoyed it more than what has been coming out of GW corporate for quite some time.

All the GW lore YouTube channels are nervous they will be next.

I enjoy Discourse Miniatures channel, but would like to see her make videos on stuff she does like or just product/game reviews. The skits are very funny though.

Hard to argue with their success as people keeping giving GW their money

But I have always had an issue with their going after stores and fans over IP issues and even pricing practices. This is just one more legal round – so fans can keep giving them money. Not that it benefits their fans – only the bottom line.

But thats been well covered in other messages – so wont belabor the point.
