I get a blank webpage.

Strange this is not the case for me, I just tried and I arrive exactly where I wanted to send the readers?

Please try again, thank you.

Good old 25mm Minifigs, must be 40+ years old I guess

As I recall several of the foot wear lobster pot helmets, which is unlikely as these were for the Cavalry. Usually musketeers wore soft hats or caps and weren't issued helmets. Pike could have helmets but more usually morion style.

No reason you couldn't use the occasional foot figure in a lobster pot, perhaps scavenged from a defeated Cavalryman, but would seem very unlikely for a whole unit to be so equipped.

I got a blank page, but just hit refresh and it came up fine. Weird.

As Timbo says, they follow the old 19th-century convention that Roundheads are in lobster-pots and Royalists are in plumed hats. The understanding these days is that lobster-pots were worn by both sides' cavalry – but not by every cavalryman – but were not worn by any infantrymen. Infantry would also be more likely to wear caps than the fancy plumed helmets worn by the Royalist infantry in this range. And Scots lowlanders in kilts like ECW15 are also right out!

The other thing to look out for is musketeers firing using the rest, but not holding it – like ECW6

Timbo and GurKhan have nailed it. The range has a few figures that are okay, but the vast majority are very dated. Uniform and clothing research has come a long way since these figures were sculpted. Firmly utilising the Victorian notion of how the Civil Wars looked; this imagery lasted until the 80s.

(Link doesn't work for me either)

Both work for me.

Thank you for your future comments:

There are foot figures wearing a metal helmet in the 25mm Napoleonic range. They are miners.

There are foot figures wearing a metal helmet in the 25mm Napoleonic range and in the English Civil War soldieers?

They are pikemen..?

For those for whom these links do not work, it's weird, that's not the case for me.

you need to hit refresh…

Or..

Well go directly to the minifigs site if this topic interests you.

Paskal – with all due respect your links are not working for many people. Of course the links will work for you, they will use your browser's cache. Even hitting 'refresh' didn't work for me. Once I had visited the Minifigs ECW range (not using your link), your link started working (as it used my browser's cache).

As for your question about the ECW range – it's already been answered by myself, Timbo and GurKhan.

It's the first time such a thing has happened to me since I've been on TMP… It's weird, but it doesn't matter…
