Inspired by a scenario I found on Rich Baber's blog I ran a US/Vichy French battle. Found here:

Enjoy

Very impressive, Joseph, using schwerpunkt and coup de main, plus, I can't believe you have French for North Africa, again, very impressive! And Goums, with stripes on their overcoats, awesome! (I'm not joking, I'm actually green with envy, working on some myself)

"With this info the US Capt. halts 2nd platoon's deployment. They were painfully slow, clearly their heart wasn't in it."
Friggin' Army, I swear…

What a great fight, but I cannot agree on your choice of victor, given who was in control of the bridge. You need to play a follow up, a counterattack on the bridegehead. Really cool, and very interesting mashup of rules.

As always, thanks for sharing, and I look forward to more.

Jack

Very nice looking game, Joe!

I`m glad someone took something useful from my messing about :)

Interesting to see this re-fought in a different scale – your eyes are obviously better then mine :)

Thank you all for your kind words. Captain Pete thank you, don't think I recognize you welcome.
Jack, those goums were my first attempt at real painting and they took forever. Did come out well and that was 10 years ago. I kept rolling snake eyes for 2nd platoon, if I was using characters I would have sacked that LT!
Rich, I am just near sighted! Thanks for the scenario. I loved the SOTCW BTW.

Cheers

Joe,

I bet they did! They really do look good, and I just received my French in from Forged in Battle this evening, so more work to do…

And yes, the Louie needs to be relieved, and he should be thanking his lucky stars he's not German or Soviet, where the consequences could be even more dire ;)

V/R,
Jack
