Looking for roads for 19th C. Europe.

My figs are 10mm Naps, and 15mm FPW. Would like the roads to work for both size figs.

Presently, I'm thinking of some nice paper terrain that really looks like rutted dirt roads, and preferably may be printed in not just 8.5"x11" size, but 11"x17" as well. Anyone have a preference at WargameVault?

I'd mount it on some plastic styrene to give it a bit of weight.

Some of my gaming pals have rubber roads they use, they are OK, don't look enough like roads for me. Their weight is good, however, and they stay put on felt which is nice.

Open to suggestions – new stuff is coming out all the time, and I'm not up on terrain options.

Asphalt roofing is perfect. One side is asphalt and the other side is little pebbles that can be tan, brown, or other colors. They are also heavy so they lay down very well and stay put during games. They can be cut up using a heavy craft knife like the #2 X-Acto knife. They are also durable and very cheap to purchase. I cut mine to whatever size I want and have used them to make roads and airfields.

Hello Stalkey and Co.

Take a look at our finished dirt and cobblestone roads and see if they might work for you. There's also the option of cutting our 12x12" cobblestone mats into custom road sections that will accommodate your specific requirements.

These are painted and ready to use, see here: link

For dirt roads I just use dirt. Free, looks great. Just shake your cloth off after playing. For gravel I lay down lines of railroad ballast. Dirt cheap, stays put, vaccuum up and re-use.
