Not as concerned about the size of the flags, that can always be changed with enlarging or shrinking.

what company has the best selection of FPW flags, including the German allies?

Thanks!

But there is not a great selection there, just generic Prussian, Bavarian, and smaller German states flags and French colors for only the 1st Corps, Army of the Rhine during the Imperial phase.

The Warflags have a lot, thanks for the reminder.

Oddly, the Warflag French infantry flags for the first division are quite different from the other divisions; lots more gold, different mottos. The other divisions look more like Napoleonic tricolors – is this correct?

Warflag is a great resource for many periods, sadly not for this one. Only the French Ist Division of Ist Corps flags are accurate, all the others date to the period before Louis Napoleon became Emperor, and therefore will not even work for the Crimean War. The Prussian infantry flags have the wrong shaped crosses. The Bavarian flag is close to accurate but the central details are wrong. The Wurttemberg flags should have the Royal monograms on one side, and each regiment should have a different colour border. The Hessian, Saxon and Baden flags are all complete fantasy. Curiously wargamers in the smaller scales, 6mm and 10mm, are better served than in the larger scales, with both Pendraken and Baccus having excellent ranges. Maverick has some problems, as his Bavarian and Wurttemberg flags seem to use Warflag as a source.

@ Mollinary

Ok, so I'm uncertain what the remedy is…

Pendraken and Baccus have more accurate flags in smaller scales?

And who has the Hessian, Saxon and Baden flags?

I also found Signifer flags, but there are no pics. Any thoughts on them. zianet.com/signifer/fpw.html

Yes, Pendraken and Baccus have more accurate flags in smaller scales. If you are looking to enlarge Pendraken in 10mm have French, Prussian, Saxon, Bavarian, Wurttemberg, Hessian and Baden flags, all accurate. I am afraid I have no information regarding Signifer.

Thanks for the clarification Mollinary, I'll go that route.

I have the Signifer flags (bought'em like, 20 years ago). They look nice – the problem is they don't identify what they are so you'll need a 3rd party reference to try and figure it out…
