You were asked – TMP link

What are the odds that you will purchase whatever the next WWII ruleset that is released? (Land warfare only.)

My problem is you spend 50 or 60 dollars on a set of rules, they release a new version at another 50 or 60 and then another version…. . You can't afford things like that.

No, I'm at the point where I have any rules I need. I can always tweak where needed.

Agreed – I just bought the newest The Sword and the Flame but that was the first rule set I have bought in a long time – like nnascati I have all the rules I need

I too have all the rules I need except for the right one.

Not likely. I have rules I like for Ancients/Medieval/Renaissance, for 18th century, colonials and WWII to Moderns. They are all on the simple side. I would only buy a new set if it promises something simple and elegant.

I still buy rules but they have to be rules printed before 1990. And they have to be at a good price.

Unfortunately, I am probably stuck buying the occasional new set of WWII land rules until I find a set that satisfies me. I'm still looking for rules to play multiplayer maneuver games with players commanding at about a colonel's level (battalion to regiment, thereabouts). All games I've looked at so far are well below or just above this level of command, and tend to be heavily slanted toward 2-player play.

Yellow Admiral -

Try Kampfgruppe Commander. New players can easily handle a battalion, but it plays better if you're running a regiment.

Also big fan of Kampfgruppe Commander. Main set we use and have even played a couple WWI games using the system.

A ruleset for company-level actions with a 1;1 figure scale and a strong historical basis and simple procedures. I'd buy that like a shot.
