Thank you all! It was a tough game, and I agree, it was good to see a French victory at last. I always like the Swiss doing well!!!!
The 7YW French army was at a nadir in army development, and this lead to massive changes and improvements which helped them do so well in supporting the Americans in the AWI/Revolution, amongst other conflicts.

In my reading it seems that the French were frequently doing well in many engagements and then, for some unknown reason, just gave up and withdrew.
