Something for the model makers, especially those who do not live in the UK or cannot get about.

@ColCampbell:
Thank you.
Since you posted I have been back and indexed the whole lot, by page, which might make it a bit more useful.

Not too many Scottish castles and fortresses covered. I think there a few up here.

Love the pix. Thanks for doing this!

@Jim Duncan:
Not got as far as Scotland due to distance and disability issues. I may get to Northumberland this year and there is just a wee possibility of getting over the Scottish border from there. A possible train trip to Edinburgh has been suggested.

@skedaddle:
Thank you, you are most welcome!

Thanks Barry

I didn't understand the limitations you are working under.

Excellent, Barry. Thanks.

I really like Conwy. A bonus is that the Knight Shop (https://www.theknightshop.com/) is just a short walk away from the castle tourist centre.

Hi Warspite, those are some very good photos! I'm wondering if I could use some foe the BCW Regimental Wiki, with attribution of course. No problem if not, the wiki is CC commons so anything on it can be copied for non commercial use and you might not want that.

Many of the Medieval castles had their last blaze of glory (or just blaze!) in the English Civil Wars of course.

Warspite116 Mar 2022 4:32 a.m. PST

@Timbo:
Wiki may be CC commons but Flickr is NOT and if you read under each picture I do reserve my copyright and have acted (once) against a YouTuber but we settled the matter amicably.
On balance I would prefer not to place any photos on Wiki for the reasons which you say. Private use on YouTube, blogs, etc, is OK provided someone clears it with me first. That's just polite.
Can you put up a link of where you wanted to post this so I can have a look?
Thank you for asking rather than assuming. smile

@JimDuncanUK:
I am 68 this year and have had variable onset M.E./C.F.S. for about 22 years. Not going to kill me but it is what the late Sir Terry Pratchett calls an "emBleeped text*nce".

@Dal Gavan:
Conwy/Conway has been described as one of the finest set of town walls in Europe and I do not disagree.

A possible train trip to Edinburgh has been suggested.

I have it on good authority (the in-laws) that the restoration work done at Stirling is well worth a look – though obviously renaissance.

Timbo W19 Mar 2022 5:39 a.m. PST

No problem Warspite. If you prefer to retain copyright I don't think putting them on the BCW wiki wiki.bcw-project.org is a good idea. It's cc commons so basically means anyone is free to copy anything on the site for non-commercial use.

Worth an ask though 😁

All the best
Tim

I have just updated the album with five more shots of Baconsthorpe Castle, near my home.
