So I sent Crucible Crush an email asking how their miniatures compare to Foundry and The Assault Groups Renaissance figures, because I'm getting ready to start a King Philips War project. Crucible Crush sent a quick reply and said their miniatures are 28mm from toe to head and never heard of the two companies I mentioned. I find that difficult to believe, any call BS on that.

Maybe that was their way of saying they won't compare their figures for you because they want your purchase. They only recognize their own line.

Irish Marine09 Mar 2022 1:33 p.m. PST

Yes, I thought of that, but to me they lost my business because I don't want to spend money on figures that are not compatible with the ones I have, and it's a shame because their figures look great.

I wouldn't buy them either if that is their philosophy.

Try asking how they compare to Brigade Games. That definitely is an odd response. I think they are actually the overseas section of Bob March's Pulp Figures. Bob I'm sure is familiar with all of his competition.

Certainly an odd response. I suppose if they are in their own world they might not be aware of them, maybe?

One reason I always liked the 15mm comparisons the deepfriedhappymice site provides

Even though a hobby business, if someone cant give me a basic idea how their figures fit in with existing ranges – I tend to avoid purchasing them.

I have some of these figures. They mix well with Redoubt, Warlord and Front Rank. So they are on the larger side. The Foundry Indians which I have are much smaller. Regards Alan

Thanks Alan.

I honestly suspect he is telling the truth as to not knowing the difference in size.
We get emails like that all the time.
"Does your AWI match with Brigade, with Perry, etc." and I honestly have no idea.
Now, Insert any time period or scale.
"Do your 15mm tanks match battlefronts??"
How in the world would I know ???
"How does your 10mm fit with Pendragon?"
????? -- totally clueless.
I do not have the time nor the inclination to run around comparing my figures to the figures of a whole host of other companies.

Russ,
He said he had never heard of Foundry or The Assault Group which is odd.

I agree that they mix well. I have Old Glory, Brigade, Conquest, Eureka, and Foundry Indians

Indeed, it is odd to say you "have never heard of them?"

I will say that the KPW figures from Brigade are first rate. Also most of the Indians had firearms by that time so Crucible Crush's figures would be of limited help as they depict a much earlier time period.

mildbill11 Mar 2022 11:15 a.m. PST

Well, I have never heard of Crucible Crush but I have heard of the other two companies. Good luck on KPW, an interesting period I have never gamed. Last century, you just got a sample or small order (via mail with at least a month turnaround) and found out for yourself. No internet of phone calls for us, no sir, kids these days…old codger mumbling to himself.
