Hello

I am doing 1809 in mdf

link

The figures are about 7-8mm high, cut from 2mm mdf.

I am not discussing the pros and cons of these, but rather what to do about a missing strip.

A unit as sold is 12 strips of 8 figures. I mount on 40x20mm bases, these take 7 wide, so I clip the extra one off and base as 2 strips, with 2 behind.

I've just lost a strip of Old Guard*, leaving me with only 11 strips, so 5 bases plus a strip.

How do people think I should base? I'm not keen on trying to make up a strip from all the +1s, as it will look 'off' when glued down.

*fell out of the window to the ground 4 meters below – I'm going to have a look, but I'm not hopeful.

Find 4 10 year olds. Nieces, nephews, neighbor kids. Tell them whoever finds it gets $5 USD, everybody else gets $1. USD Tell them to watch their step. If it gets smooshed, nobody gets squat.

I've looked – if I find them they will be covered in mud – and remember they are MDF. I really need a basing option!

Would pairs stick together OK? If so, do two of the bases as six figure strips (three 8 fig strips, cut off two from each gives three pairs). The six fig strip bases are really Old Guard, not many of them.

Can you incorporate a wall or a hedge to make the +1s stand out less?

Martin, thanks. I was going to look numbers up. Will look at strips of 6, no back markers. Will also a help make them a bit different.
