Does anyone have a comparison between Wargames Atlantic & Gripping Beast?

Any preferences or recommendations?

Sorry, but I can't help with regard to the WA figures. I looked at them, but decided not to get them. I have Dark Age Irish, but mine are a mix of older Gripping Beast metals and newer Footsore miniatures. Both are nice figures and mix pretty well, but the GB are slightly taller (1 or 2mm) and more robust. The heads are a bit bigger than the Footsore figures, but not so much that they look odd when mixed in a unit. The Footsore figures appear well proportioned and have good detail. My main gripe against them isn't the figures, but the spears they came with. Way to easily bent. I'd recommend using some wire spears if you decide to get any of the Footsore. Also, you need to drill out the hands to accommodate the spears, but that was easily done with a pin vise. Hope that helps some with your decision.

WA are better proportioned and are more detailed as Forager says. I've got the GB Welsh Irish and Picts. The bodies are the same for all three. There is one rather static-looking standing body in the GB sets which is just OK. There is a separate bit for some heads/weapons which make the 'differences' between the nationalities. I'm going to mix the two. Heads are swappable.
