We've had these discussions before. My own feeling is that the top three are

1. Scipio
2. Hannibal
3. Alexander

I don't really understand the adulation towards Alexander that one often comes across (like in the above article.) "By every measure of generalship Alexander excelled all others." One the challenges that both Scipio and Hannibal had that Alexander did not is that they were not head of state and head of government. The brings a whole set of extra complications for a commander. Being king gave Alexander more freedom of action than Scipio and Hannibal.
