Do you agree with the composition of the Wallachian DBA army? I haven't done a lot of reading on it, but it strikes me as being light on Cv and heavy on Ps units.

List: 1x3Cv (gen), 3x2LH, 5xPs, 2x3Bw, 1x5Wb.

If you have done significant research on the army, does this seem like a fair representation to you? Thanks.

Sorry didn't mean to post in the Ancients forum. I am looking at the army for the late 1400s.

Are you building Vlad's Army?

Some would say, their leader… sucks. The sun never shines on their army. I am sure they will impale me with a stake for those. 😉

79thPA,
The archers (3Bw) are an option for the curteni (4Bw).
The latter recoil Turkish cavalry on even scores.

You need not select the 5Hd but may take cannons (Art),
this would give additional support for the curteni.

Do not overlook the use of the allies; Polish, or both Hungarian and Golden Horde Successor (Tartars).

Ah, I did not know about allies. I do not have the list with options and, all I have found is what I posted.

The Wallachian/Moldavian have a low aggression factor of 1,
improving their chance of fighting on home terrain; forest.

Add marsh, rivers and hills, the skirmishers are in their element.

Thanks. That thought popped into my head as well. If it's a home game, there should be a lot of terrain features to help them out.

The current army list is below, not what is noted in first post.

IV/65 Wallachian or Moldavian Army: (number preceding type is number of figures)
1 x General (3Cavalry or 3Knight),
3 x boyars & viteji (2Light Horse),
2 x curteni (4Bow) or archers (3Bow),
5 x archers (2Psiloi-- skirmishers),
1 x rustici (5Horde) or archers (2Ps) or cannon (1Art) or Turkish horse archers (2LH).

Terrain Type: Forest. Aggression: 1. Allies: IV/66 or both
IV/43c and IV/47.
