So I took the plunge, as I just could not locate any Cyclops figures in the correct size/scale for what I wanted. The Red Box Alliance figures are really inexpensive for use as gaming mini's, and they have a surprising amount of detail for injection molded plastic figures. Here are a number of photo's of the unpainted figures for your viewing pleasure:

All four poses, front and rear view;

Khopesh Cyclops with riveted metal breast plate armor;

Kopesh Cyclops rear;

Axe-wielding Cyclops;

Axe wielding Cyclops, rear;

Stone Battle Axe Cyclops;

Stone Battle Axe Cyclops, rear;

Stone Throwing Cyclops;

Stone Throwing Cyclops, rear.

There is a centimeter ruler in many of the photo's, to show the actual height of the mini's. On average, they appear to be 48mm tall, from sole of feet to crown of head.

As you can see, these injection-molded figures have a decent amount of detail. They should paint up nicely. Looking forward to getting them clothed in paint, and then The Dip Technique, to really bring out the details. I'll re-post as I make progress on these figures. Cheers!

Yep, they are pretty decent. My favorites are the LOTR Trolls in armor. Great figs at a great price!

Thanks

I've purchased quite a few Red Box Alliance sets. One of my favorites is the Catapults, with an Orc Crew. The catapults look quite Orcish: not really functional, but disheveled enough to have been built by Orcs. I use them without their Troll carrying them around.

To be honest, I love all of the Red Box Alliance sets I've purchased. I love the Warg Riders -- I use them as Goblins, rather than Orcs. Painted to match my other Goblins, they are hard to tell that they are not the same creatures, until you look at them 3" from your orbit. I use these as Medium Cavalry, and my PA Wolf Cavalry as Light Cavalry, to mix things up a bit, for the Goblins.

Between Caesar 1/72 fantasy and Red Box 1/72 Alliance figures, I've built up some very nice armies. I will be pressing them into war, on the 19th, in a very large battle. Looking forward to it. Cheers!
