Because they know you really want a set of zombie rules?

Try the Zombicide boxed games

All Things Zombie by Two Hour Wargames (haven't played).

The Walking Dead by Mantic (this is geared towards the TV series/Books).

Last Days by Osprey. This is a more generic setting. The group I play with leans toward this over The Walking Dead.

After buying and reading through All Things Zombie, I decided to try Last Days: Zombie Apocalypse, and I'm am glad I did. The rules are more straightforward and easier to understand. It has a definite "Frostgrave" feel to it, but you can easily adjust it to be just humans vs. zombies, instead of the humans vs. humans vs. zombies. It's also really easy to adjust the difficulty by adding or subtracting zombies to the table.

The 'Dead Walk Again' (the rules are free on the 'net… ;-)

I'm looking for something where multiple players play small groups of survivors collecting resources while evading and fighting mobs of zombies. Any of these rules do that well?

We use the Walking Dead and Last Days to play those types of scenarios. The GM put out supply tokens that the group/s scavenge for while trying to avoid zombies and each other. You never know what the supply token is until you retrieve it.

I've played Mein Zombie at conventions, maybe give that a look-see?
