Does anyone have a good reference on this topic? I'm doing a PPA tank and mech infantry army for Team Yankee and would like to see how they numbered/marked their AFVs. Thanks for any help or guidance! |

"The Eastern Front: Armour Camouflage and Markings 1941- 1945" by Zaloga and Grandsen has a bit of info from late WWII for LWP vehicles. National marking of the white Polish eagle was common, some surrounded by a white circle, or on a red background surrounded by 2 white circles, or unadorned. Tanks and SPGs used 4 digit numbers: for battalion, company, platoon, and individual vehicle. Others used 3 digit numbers: regiment (or battalion), company, platoon. Other information is provided in some detail-- worth looking at. |
