Currently, topics on TMP Marketplace expire after a certain amount of time. I think it's 30 days, but I haven't looked at the code. The posts expire because it keeps the database size down to manageable proportions, and most posts simply aren't relevant after a while. However, I've received a complaint that the current limit it too short (whatever it is). So, dear members, how long should the expiration limit be? * 2 weeks * 3 weeks * 1 month * 6 weeks * 2 months etc. |

I never look past the last day or two. |

Two weeks at the most. I don't even think that long. |

30 days seems reasonable – I assume that the seller is allowed to repeat the post if the item is still unsold. |

Bill, I didn't realize there was an expiry date. When I post on the TMP Marketplace my goal is to get rid of something. If it hasn't sold after a week, I feel something is wrong--either nobody wants it, or it is priced too high. My next move at that point is to list it again with a better description or a lower price. Certainly, if I'd listed half a dozen items and three sold and three didn't, I'd want to delete the three that sold and resubmit. So, I'd go for a week or 10 days. Grelber |

I don't look back more than a week, the 30 days is generous. |

Bill, Well, I disagree with most of the above! I know that two people contacted me after most of my postings had been listed for over thirty days. That is when it started to dawn on me, that posting were removed after thirty days. Sincerely, Tom Semian |

90 days, unless the items sell, or want lists are filled. I'd be okay with 6 months or a year two. Perhaps give sellers and buyers the option to delete their posts if their items are sold, or found. |

Is it possible to let the seller put an expiration date on their post? With a hard expiration at maybe 6 months? That way they can post for 2 weeks, if it doesn't sell, they post again with a cheaper price, better description, etc. But no matter what, it's gone after 6 months to keep the database manageable. Or, this is just way too complicated. |

At least 30 days. Often the left column will move off items if there is a lot of activity in one week. I try to relist but find it difficult to find my original. |

2 weeks. If it doesn't sell, then price needs to be lowered. |

2-4 weeks. The listing shouldn't take up more than one page. I would guess most people who are shopping are either checking one a week or so. It's nice to look in each category and see what's being offered but I don't think I would go back more than a month. |

I've had people contact me 3 weeks after posting so I prefer 30 days. Gives me 2 weeks to garner any offers and if not, time to adjust my price and "re-list" if desired. |
