If it wasn't for Airfix how many of us would be here?

It was Tri-ang Hornby railways that set my preferred scale, and Airfix that peopled most of my armies…till I discovered Peter Laing 15mm!

Airfix, but what scale is Airfix?

Airfix is 1/76 to 1/72.

Thanks

Depends on the game.

Very first miniatures were for D&D so 25mm
Then Battletech so 1/285
Micro armor also 1/285
Then this weird Rogue Trader game so 25mm

The rest, is history.

Another vote for Airfix – many hours of enjoyment as a young kid – could never get enough of them. Side story – my mom would tell me to "get a box" when visiting the hobby store – I would agonize what box to get – Romans/Britons, ACW, Napoleonics, etc……and then would finally make my choice for a box at 45 cents. Years later I told my mom how I would stand and stare trying to decide what box – she told me – they were only 45 cents, I would have bought you 5 boxes if I knew you really wanted them!!!!!

Am still on 20mm (or 1/72 or 1/76 if you prefer)… But I started with 54mm!

I went back to 54mm… Army Men, to be up front. I started gaming with plastic Army Men figures in 1998, still putting together [Big!] games when I can. Loving this scale, these cheap figures. It's more fun than I should be allowed. LOL! Cheers!
