I recently discovered a pair of pdfs of books that could be of great interest. De Indische Oorlogen (War in the Dutch East Indies) are a set of handbooks for young KNIL officers published in 1896. The first volume details the various ethnic groups of the islands, their weaponry, fortifications, etc. The second volume focuses on tactics (roughly translated from Dutch using an app on my phone). It's difficult to find much information on this region in English, and I was curious if any individuals or publishers who have a knowledge of Dutch would want to translate these. They are public domain. |
