This was an initial play test using Team Yankee rules for the Iran-Iraq War. The rules work well for modern period gaming and the advanced technologies are death with in sophisticated, yet playable ways. This game was played with limited forces, but the game play is pretty deadly, even at long range, with stabilised firing systems and even laser rangefinders on T72s. The Iranians won both games, benefitting from better tanks and TOW jeeps.

My issue with those is the actual warring powers often made no or poor use of the technology. I remember reading the account of one young Iranian tank lieutenant who said they never even used the computer and laser sighting abilities due to lack of training.
Another place I recall the Iraqis not using the radar mechanism on the ZSU-4 AA weapons.

I have heard the same or that the equipment didn't even work. That said the table looks great and you had fun; success!
