"Fake Posts in My Name" Topic

As you probably know, there's a gaming forum called Frothers. I have an account on their forum, from back when it was a good place, but it's gone terribly downhill in the last few years.

The people there have a stupid game of pretending that everyone who posts anonymously (i.e., not signing in) is me. That's just dumb, if I wanted to post there, I would use my account there.

Then some of the anonymous posters actually claim to me. Again, just people playing stupid games. It's not me. I don't know who it is. Please stop if it's you.

Mostly recently, I understand someone posted on Frothers claiming to be me, and boasting about certain TMP advertisers renewing their contracts after seeing the nonsense posted on Frothers about TMP. Again, this is not me. We don't even have such a thing as 'renewing' advertising contracts.

A shame some people are so hateful and belligerent.

I agree with Thresher01, I wonder if there is any practical way of sorting these individuals out?

Kinda like Zoom bombers. One of their latest tricks is to go all stealth and sent private messages to legitimate users and in a new twist they change their name to that of a member in good standing.

Had a quick flick over to Frothers – looks like they are getting trolled by people (person with multiple lack of personality disorder) pretending to be Bill and all sorts of other ****.

It looks as if they are trying to mess up Frothers even more while pretending to 'defend' TMP. Just trying to fan something into a feud.

Never been there. Have no need or desire to go there. But I know someone that has an account over there that occasionally sends me a screenshot or tells me what they are saying about me, (and it's usually the usual suspects).
From what I can only surmise from past discussions on this, a lot of the folks that are over there are former TMP'ers, who have left, or been kicked out due to various issues. A lot of them have issues with Bill for various reasons of their own. There's nothing really that Bill will ever be able to do that will ever satisfy these folks. People like this have serious issues with themselves and their own well being and seem to get some sort of psychological sadistic pleasure out of sh*t stirring. They also know that if a person responds to it in any way, that it only adds fuel to their fire and they enjoy the burn.
Arguing with them on their site Bill, (if you actually do so), is pointless, useless, hopeless, and foolish, and results in them getting their jollies off by irking you enough to respond and ties you up from using valuable time to work on TMP.
If the site is really that much of a train wreck as others have said, perhaps someone should send a note or something to the site admins or owner? Just a thought.
People are people and the internet makes certain people braver than they would be in real life.
I'd say ignore them and focus on TMP.

Never been on the site. I googled it once out of curiosity and all I found were machines to steam milk for your espresso.

I looked at Frothers one time many years ago when there was some particular nasty and untrue things being said about me.
I simply disregarded the rubbish and have never been back.

I have had this happen to me on another website years ago. The troll posted in my name in an effort to inflame the forum community to have me banned and ostracized. I had the last laugh when admin put in big bold letters who the sock puppet account belonged to for each of her posts. It was damn funny when the troll made multiple responses using different aliases and pretended there was a general consensus against me. I have not posted on Frothers for years. If I did so, I would use my proper account there. I am not using anonymous accounts there. I am not EditorB or nonsuchme or whatever those forum names are. I have not asked anyone else to post there on my behalf. The staff editors are not posting there on my behalf. I don't know who is posting there as EditorC, but I highly doubt it is anyone who ever worked here.
