To all our Valued Customers, ODGW has recently experienced a catastrophic event with our website. A service provider migration to a new server has caused severe data loss on our website. Essentially, we've lost months of data and our service provider is unable to restore the data. What does this mean? Any site activity that occurred after 17 JUL 2021 has been lost. Forum Posts Online Sales Account Registrations Account updates (password changes for example) Product Registrations This is incredibly frustrating for us and you, our customers. The site will be back online Monday January 24th 2021. However the data recovery process will take a bit longer. We are working to recover Product and Account registrations so you will not have to re-register or lose access to the products already purchased. Unfortunately, we will not be able to recover forum postings. If you need assistance with your account you can submit a Support Ticket and we will answer them as soon as we can. This recovery will take time as we also have our "day" jobs and family obligations. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to reconstruct the information. Thank you for your continued support of ODGW. Sincerely, ODGW LLC

Ouch I am sorry to see this happen. This seems to be way too common with service provider migrations and thus once again shows the need for offsite third party backups, (Carbonite, etc…). Hawgleg has had the same issue twice with our service providers over the last decade and a half. If they've lost that much data for you, then your payment for their services and lack thereof, should be adjusted accordingly. Anyhow, good luck with it, and hope you get it straightened out. |

I'm sorry to hear about this, Kenny! As a fairly regular reader and poster on your site, I am looking forward to getting your site up and running again. Best of luck to you and the rest of the gang at ODGW. |

Appreciate you coming on and advising us all. The transparency is very welcome. Really sorry for the damage you've sustained. Good luck with getting things plugged back together. |

Ditto, that is terrible. i have my sites built with WordPress and back them up independently. |

Thought I would drop a note in here as an update. I was able to log in to the ODGW website. I was able to see the correct content (correct as far as I know) in the download area, based on my past purchases. So accounts and general site appear to have been successfully restored. But as mentioned, some of the forum content contributed over the past half year or so is not present. Shame, that. But still nice to see that it is back up and working. -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |
