I'd like to take this opportunity to plug Tan Yk, a pen and ink illustrator living in Malaysia, who I have commissioned over the last several years to create artwork for my, as yet unpublished, website. He has a special interest in military subjects and has a talent for rendering action scenes. He has an excellent understanding of the English language and I have never had any difficulty conveying to him my ideas for a commission. He usually responds to my inquiries within twenty-fours and the following day provides me several different rough drafts of my idea for perusal (depicting, for example, the scene set from different vantage points). After informing him of the sketch I most prefer, he then emails me the finished drawing as a PDF within one or two days. He customarily charges $20 USD-$25 per illustration which I send to him via PayPal. Examples of his commission work can be seen at Flickr by searching under "people" for edwardharvey7. If you would like to see additional examples of his work or would like to contact him to discuss a possible commission then feel free to message me through TMP. I think he is an ideal resource for a small gaming publisher or website creator on a limited budget that would like to procure some original art for their project.
BTW, I actually took the initiative in asking Tan Yk for permission to advertise his services. I've been that happy with his work! |
