What I did this week was complete a unit of dragoons from my stash of old Spencer Smith plastic miniatures. The standard SSM 18th century dragoon trooper lacks a blanket roll and carbine but I'm happy that they make a reasonable enough representation of Prussian dragoons for wargaming purposes. I'm not bothered about the blanket roll but I think I might add carbines if I can source something suitable. As per Charles Grant's original units, the "colonel" and standard bearer figures are conversions. The flag is based on a template from David Morfitt's excellent 'Not By Appointment' blog.

Can't get them anymore ……… can you ? The plastic ones are definitely out of production – I think mine were some of the last made – but they are available in metal. |
